Research
I am currently working on a dissertation that uses DNA barcoding as a tool to assess biodiversity and risk of northwards range expansion of freshwater invertebrates in the Canadian Middle Arctic. I work closely with Polar Knowledge Canada and the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics, and contribute to Arctic BIOSCAN.
My work is guided by something I observed during my first community consultation with Hunter-Trapper Organizations from across the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut:
A gap in literature does not always equal a gap in knowledge.
